Recap: GenAI Builders Meetup Melbourne with Prime Value Asset Management
Together with Prime Value Asset Management, we hosted our very first GenAI Builders Meetup Melbourne, bringing together AI founders, engineers, researchers, enterprise leaders, investors, students, and ecosystem builders who are already actively building with AI.
What made the session special was not just the turnout. It was the room. People shared openly about what they are building, what problems they care about, and where they believe AI is heading next.
A first step into Australia’s AI ecosystem
Melbourne was an important first stop for GenAI Fund in Australia. The meetup brought together a strong mix of technical talent, startup founders, enterprise leaders, researchers, and students — all with different perspectives on how AI is being built and adopted.
One of the biggest themes from the room was the growing opportunity for collaboration between the Southeast Asia and Australian AI ecosystems. Southeast Asia is moving quickly with AI products, builder communities, and market-driven use cases. Australia brings strong research depth, enterprise demand, technical talent, and founders thinking globally. Bringing these two ecosystems closer together can create more room for shared pilots, talent exchange, venture collaboration, and cross-border market access.
Featuring the next generation of AI builders
The finalists brought fresh energy into the room and reminded everyone why early exposure matters. AI is moving quickly, and the next generation of builders will not just use these tools. They will help define what gets built with them.

A big thank you to Carlyn K. and the Edcellent team, together with the support from Prime Value, for helping make this possible.
Connecting Melbourne to Agentic AI Build Week
We would love to bring more of the Australian AI ecosystem into that conversation — from founders and researchers to investors, enterprise leaders, students, and community builders. If Melbourne showed us anything, it is that the energy is already here.
