Our Partner Laura Nguyen at GenAI Fund joined the GSMA Innovation Fund for Impactful AI panel — a platform showcasing how small and growing enterprises are leveraging AI, mobile, and emerging technologies to address socio-economic and climate-related challenges in low- and middle-income countries (LMICs).

The panel featured 26 enterprises across Africa and Asia using technology to address socio-economic and climate-related challenges in their communities.

Real-World Use Cases

The solutions shared focused on practical, high-impact applications of AI, including:
👩‍🍼 AI for maternal health in low-resource settings
📚 AI for education financing
🛒 AI tools for micro-entrepreneurs and informal retailers

These examples reflect the fund’s mission to support AI that drives real-world change.

Why Impactful AI Matters

While much of the attention in AI focuses on large models and major funding rounds, this panel served as a powerful reminder of what truly matters: solving real problems with empathy, technology, and purpose.
